Scotland-based singer-songwriter Lizabett Russo merges her native Romanian traditions with elements of contemporary jazz, avant garde folk and world music, a range of influence effortlessly spanned by her powerfully versatile voice. 

 

Lizabett has released four albums to date and toured extensively in Europe, Canada and Asia. Her presence in UK led to supporting acclaimed musicians such as Rachel Sermanni, LAU, Rozi Plain, Tim Edey and Trembling Bells and playing at some prestigious festivals such as the Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections and Latitude Festival (BBC Introducing Stage). Lizabett has been nominated for the SAMA Awards 2019 (Best Acoustic Act).

IronStar Films have selected 2 of her songs to be played in an independent short movie called 'Bloodloss'. The movie has received special mentions at independent film festivals in Los Angeles, Calgary, Marbella and Melbourne and Ontario.

Lizabett has recently worked on the soundtrack for the documentary film 'Iorram' with Aidan O'Rourke, Graeme Stephen, Tom Gibbs and others which was released in March 2021 (https://iorramfilm.com/trailer). She also appeared and performed in George Ezra's upcoming documentary 'End to end' (2023).
